Transformational Leadership Training – ACTIL :- Kawikya Judith M. (Trainee). 16-20th June 2020

My testimonial.

My life as a sharp girl from a simple background has been interesting. It’s a wonder of how I have manoeuvred to this far. But one thing I know is that God long established my destiny and this is a fulfillment of the promise. I have made every effort to go a notch higher everyday and reach the good level that I perceive I am called to. This training was one of my greatest milestones in my career journey. I can now more confidently shout out my purpose whose road map I know  very.

Opportunities/Uniqueness

I have attended leadership summits and other conferences but this one was one of a kind and it topped in my rating. The training granted me special gates to learn how I can not only be a leader but a transformational leader.

I got special women who have run the though perceived “difficult race” and have done it faithfully and well. They inspired me a lot in this move that I desire to make. The many professors, doctors, CEOs etc made me feel privileged to keep pressing on. Better enough, they interacted with me in a close level despite it’s virtuality. I felt their closeness as if it was only me and each one of them. Their golden hearts meant so much to me as a young girl dreaming to go higher than them.

The breakout rooms made this conference one of a kind where specific groups did come up with special ideas and solutions and had a chance to interact and bond closely, ( the trainees can attest this). I remember hearing my name shouted so that I say something in a room when I had gone to pick something in the house. This was very interesting and lively. Active participation of attendants made the whole deal.

The appreciation of other mentors was another unique feature of the training. This showed me how ACTIL is not only concerned with the young girl alone, but also the other women champions who are making efforts to climb the ladder holding their hands. Hearing a stream of answers to my many questions and views on the roles of mentors and mentees was fascinating for me.

The other big and amazing blow was in the making of my own tangible purpose road map!. I realized I had just been thinking and superficially dreaming until I was to put it down on paper. Interestingly, it was much easy now that I had made a step of thinking about it earlier. Thanks to Pamela Yieke! You’re an awesome game changer. Having planned, now I am a success.

The practicals we got to do in this training were super great. I have never been in a training among the many I have attended and experienced this!. They were not only for keeping, but for action!. Most of them really moved my heart and I learnt why the event was successful and why there is a very high probability of changing many lives of girls and the whole society at large.

The plans to keep trainees on toes as they work towards their purpose was another very unique feature of the training. I could never imagine it could be this easy and possible because I’ve been in many conferences and trainings but I got to forget the trainers neither any one wants to know how I am doing unless they were close friends during the event. Kudos to ACTIL!.

Challenges.

Appreciating every single bit (good or bad) and being positive is ever my drive.

The greatest challenge for me was the fact that I was home and it was a bit tricky to concentrate for all the hours as much as I was on all the time. I could be sent somewhere in the house or outside and therefore had to go with my phone so that I don’t miss details. My phone could hang at times but it taught me patience.

Technical errors were there but to me they were necessary to show us as women that, it’s not all easy. There is need for a struggle.

Another challenge was the rushy notes that by passed us and promised to be shared later. Unfortunately we haven’t received them yet. They are important in understanding some concepts clearer. We need to know what’s being planned on the same so that we understand.

Parting shot:// I as a training understand the fact that empowerment of a woman is empowerment if the whole society of both men and women. And empowerment of a young person as me, is empowerment of generations of both old and young.

Therefore as an empowered young woman, I am the strongest!

Thank you our hosts :- ACTIL Director; Mum Professor Caroline Thoruwa ( you’re so dear to me) and Terry. God bless you.
